Who this service is for

This service is designed for international retail buyers, DTC and marketplace private-label operators, importer-distributors, hospitality FF&E specifiers and interior-design firms who need an independent India-side sourcing partner. Buyers typically engage us for furniture programmes above 20-ft container scale — a first container is a common engagement threshold — through to multi-container annual programmes worth €500K to €5M.

Our commercial relationship is buyer-side only: our fee comes from you as a transparent commission on FOB or a fixed retainer, never from the factory. This is the operational difference between a sourcing company and a factory sales agent, and it is why buyers can trust the supplier shortlists we prepare.

Furniture categories we source

Solid wood furniture — sheesham, mango wood, acacia, teak and rubber-wood dining, bedroom, occasional and casegoods. Handcrafted furniture — carved detailing, hand-painted finishes, block-print upholstery, marquetry and inlay work. Upholstered furniture — sofas, armchairs, ottomans, headboards and dining chairs with fabric or leather upholstery. Metal furniture — mixed-metal industrial style, wrought iron, brass and copper accents. Outdoor furniture — teak and eucalyptus garden sets, aluminium and rope hospitality outdoor. Hospitality furniture — hotel bedroom, restaurant seating, contract-tier upholstery and lobby lounge FF&E. Contract furniture — commercial-tier engineered furniture meeting DIN EN 12520 / EN 1728 / EN 1021 durability and fire-safety standards. Home furniture — the full residential dining / bedroom / living / occasional range. Custom furniture — bespoke design translation from buyer CAD or reference images.

Indian furniture manufacturing clusters

Jodhpur (Rajasthan) is India's largest solid-wood furniture manufacturing cluster — the Boranada industrial belt hosts hundreds of factories producing sheesham, mango-wood and acacia dining, bedroom and occasional furniture at international export volumes. FSC Chain-of-Custody, GS-mark, DIN EN 1728 and BS 5852 pre-testing are cluster-standard capabilities.

Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) is India's traditional carved-wood cluster with contemporary output extending into upholstered furniture with EN 1021 cigarette-resistance pre-testing and FSC solid-wood casegoods. Jaipur (Rajasthan) is India's specialty-craft furniture cluster — hand-painted, block-print upholstery, custom-detailed occasional furniture at smaller MOQs (50-500 units per SKU) for premium boutique and design-lifestyle retail. Delhi NCR handles metal-and-wood industrial style, contract-furniture assembly and lighting-adjacent metalwork.

Our furniture sourcing process

Stage 1 — Requirement briefing. We start with a buyer requirement call covering category scope, MOQ per SKU, target landed cost, destination port, retail-tier positioning, compliance-package requirements (GS-mark / DIN / FSC / BSCI / Sedex) and programme cadence. This produces a written RFQ document that we run against our vetted supplier network.

Stage 2 — Supplier identification. We prepare a three-to-five factory shortlist per SKU-family matching capability, quality-tier, compliance track record and programme timeline. Every supplier is on our long-standing 23-year vetted network, not a public directory. Stage 3 — Factory verification. Fresh BSCI or Sedex social-compliance audit if not already on file, plus programme-specific technical audit against your vendor spec.

Stage 4 — Product development and sampling. 15-30 day sample turnaround with in-person cluster review by our field team. Stage 5 — Cost negotiation. FOB price locking at your target volume, sample-fee waivers, capacity commitment for your production window. Stage 6 — Production monitoring. Milestone-linked during-production inspection at agreed stages. Stage 7 — Quality control. Pre-shipment AQL 2.5 inspection with a full defect breakdown. Stage 8 — Packaging. Buyer-spec packaging verification including drop-test where applicable. Stage 9 — Export coordination. Container-loading supervision at Mundra or Nhava Sheva, freight forwarder handoff, export documentation and shipping-line coordination.

Why source furniture from India

Three structural advantages. Cost — Indian solid-wood furniture lands 30-45% below Vietnamese equivalents and 50-65% below European-manufactured. Craft depth — three-to-five-generation family-workshop lineages that translate directly into premium-retail product-page storytelling. Certification density — cluster-wide FSC Chain-of-Custody, GOTS textile certification, BSCI / Sedex social compliance and destination-market safety certification (GS / UKCA / NF / CPSIA) run at pre-existing depth.

Furniture Sourcing Company in India · Frequently asked questions

How do I find a furniture sourcing company in India?

Look for buyer-side commercial alignment (fee from buyer, not from factory), a documented cluster network across Jodhpur / Saharanpur / Jaipur / Delhi NCR, verifiable years of operating history and process documentation covering supplier verification, factory audit, sampling, production monitoring and pre-shipment inspection. Asia Sourcing has been running India furniture sourcing programmes since 2002.

How do I source furniture from India?

Start with a written brief covering category, MOQ per SKU, target landed cost, destination port, retail-tier positioning and compliance requirements. Send it to us and we return a three-to-five factory shortlist per SKU-family within 5-7 working days, followed by sample development, factory audit, production and pre-shipment inspection.

What is the typical MOQ for India furniture sourcing?

MOQ ranges by category and cluster. Jodhpur solid-wood: 200-2,000 units per SKU. Saharanpur upholstered and carved: 100-1,000 units per SKU. Jaipur specialty and craft-heavy: 50-500 units per SKU. Contract and hospitality FF&E: project-scoped, typically 20-40 ft container per specification.

Can Asia Sourcing help with product development and sampling?

Yes — product development is a core part of every furniture sourcing engagement. We translate buyer CAD or reference images into a technical spec-sheet for the factory, run pre-production sample development with in-person cluster review, and coordinate one round of paid revisions before locking the production PO.

Do you handle export coordination and container loading?

Yes. Every furniture sourcing programme includes container-loading supervision at Mundra or Nhava Sheva, export documentation preparation, freight forwarder handoff and shipping-line coordination. Buyers receive a full pre-shipment documentation pack per container.
