Decorative box sourcing from India.
India's decorative-box category sits across three categories of craft: carved wood from Saharanpur, inlay (bone, mother-of-pearl, marble) from Jaipur and Agra, and metal-trimmed boxes from Moradabad. Asia Sourcing operates programmes for retail décor, jewellery storage and gifting ranges, with full development, QC and documentation support.

Hinge, lining and lock as the three defect gates
Our PSI protocol for decorative boxes runs three dedicated gates: hinge smoothness and alignment, lining adhesion and bubble-free seat, and (where fitted) lock engagement. These three account for over 80% of in-category rejections. New factories are brought online under a tightened inspection regime for the first three POs.
Programme packaging
Decorative boxes are often retail-ready SKUs — the retail package is as important as the product. We develop the retail carton (ribbon, insert, barcode, country-of-origin label, OBC overlay) alongside the box itself and specify both in the signed PPS. Changes to packaging after PPS trigger a documented change-order fee the buyer approves before production.

- Saharanpur — carved and inlaid wooden boxes

Jaipur is the primary cluster. Nagina (near Moradabad) is a secondary source for mother-of-pearl on wooden bases.
Is CITES wood a concern for Indian decorative boxes?
Sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo) is CITES Appendix II; export documentation includes the CITES certificate when applicable. Mango and acacia are unrestricted.
